John accepted the position of Trail Boss and will coordinate Trail Maintenance. Website Calendar will reflect scheduled trail maintenance days.
IMBA will be invited to evaluate our trails and provide input regarding changes and maintenance. Vickie requested the IMBA Trail Crew to visit our trails and help with our expansion. we will know in December 2008
Volusia County is considering a controlled burn in the area.
We were given the go ahead for trail expansion. We need to get the new trails marked off and get the County and state to sign off on them so we can get them cut.
Rails to Trails
$16M purchase of abandoned rail line was accomplished earlier this month. Trail development will begin shortly and is scheduled to be finished in 2008. Although this will eventually be a paved trail, it will be open to MTB during parts of its development.
Jerseys
Scott Bowser is coordinating jersey orders for the club. Samples were displayed at the meeting. Initial set up is $150. Each Jersey will cost $60 Several styles are available.

Races and Events
We would like member suggestions for events you would like to see us sponsor as a club. We need volunteers to help with the organization of these events. IMBA has a great "Take a child mountain biking day". Let us know what you think

Share the Road signs have been posted along Turnbull Bay Rd to Martin's Dairy Rd.
Trail Maintenance
Trail Maintenance Days and times are posted on the web calendar. Keep an eye on the information board on the back side of the kiosk at the Martin Dairy Trailhead for updated dates also Trail Maintenance is usually carried out in the cooler months due to the "Bug Factor" during July and August.
All members are welcome to attend. Please bring gloves, water, sturdy shoes, pruning tools, hand saws, and chainsaws.
Rails to Trails
Our club sits on the County Committee that is partnering with Rails to Trails to develop a county wide loop connecting eastern and western Volusia. The projected distance for the completed loop is in the 100 mile range. We are excited about this wonderful opportunity to provide input and support to this effort. We will keep you posted!
